I’ve been seeing a bunch of human designs for him that give me sexyman ptsd. I haven’t been able to find a design I super resonated with so I decided to try my hand at it.

I struggled to pick a time period for his design since he’s old as hell and I don’t feel like selling my soul for lore. I ended up going off of the 1930s due to the release of “We’ll meet again”. My inspo was a fancy pants business man who looked just slimey enough to sell you snake oil.

Their backpack is made out of scavenger skin, as it is soft and warm and quite easy to make a bag out of, using fly lures and knitting them with a spear. Fly lures are extremely durable, yet flexible, making them a great material to use for thread. The clip on the bag is a chipped rock delicately sewn to the bag.

The bag holds their egg.

Sofanthiels light source is constructed with a metal arm to hold out the light source, along with a hooked end to hold the Lantern. The arm is made of the mechanical parts of a miros bird (in which, took Sofanthiel quite some time to obtain.) Along with extra metal scraps it has found. The arm can be moved to be up and down, and left and right.

The lantern has a metal shell to encase the lamp. The top and bottom of the shell are both hollow, holding smaller pieces of other lamps inside. The main lamp is encased in the middle of the lantern, being the main light source.

Sofanthiel makes its bandages out of eel lizard skin as it is stretchy and has a slightly slimey surface, making a great temporary bandage for small injuries. The bandage is being held down by a sticky white lizard tongue.

Drew one of my friends ocs for artfight last year. It was just a fully body with render. But I tried really hard on it. They're a beginner artist and I wanted to do something nice for them.

They messaged me about how it made them super uncomfy because I drew something "too big", and they couldn't revenge it properly. Told me I made their anxiety spike really bad, and that they were really upset with me.

They brought this up all year about how I go "overboard" with my art gifts. And that me gifting them made them upset and that they don't want me to do it (and I haven't since af last year).

Nothing was wrong with their OC. I didn't draw the OC ooc. I didn't make anything slimey or icky. I just "tried too hard".

This year they texted me like, we're on opposite teams, Im super excited to fight you lol.

So I finished Sugar Apple Fairy Tale. Oh boy, was it fun!!! So I can def tell they condensed several chapters into a few episodes in the ending, because it felt rushed. But that’s ok! That’s what the LN will be for. :D It would have been nice to have more backstory with Lafelle. I thought he was interesting and kinda fun for a villain!

Challe is always so gentle with Anne. He seems happy to be with her. Always love those scenes where he is making moves on her, lol. I don’t really get why Anne doesn’t realize he likes her??? This man holds her hand. Kisses her cheek (passionately, I might add. Those were bedroom eyes!) Kisses her forehead. Would do pretty much anything for her. Puts his life on the line for her. Promises he will stay by her side forever…. Or DOES she know, but she isn’t sure about her own future and what she wants, etc. so she’s holding back? Unclear. Challe not knowing she likes him back is more understandable. She’s kind to a lot of people, and blushes easily in general.

[EDIT: credit to @fantasydreaamer for explaining to me privately what’s going on here. Challe doesnt realize he’s in love. Anne’s just so out of the loop, and thinks Challe sees her as family. It seems Challe confuses her.]

Random note, but I am wondering that when Challe said “Forever means…” If he was thinking of what Lafelle said. Humans have shorter life spans than precious gem fairies. Maybe his words mean “what would forever look like for us?” Or perhaps he just meant “forever is a long time”. Or maybe a combo. Idk.

I mean, plot wise, it can be predictable. There’s ALWAYS something happening to Anne. But the world building is interesting. The other fairies are cute (Benjamin is a DOLL, I love him so much) and Mythril is hilarious! I find that the supporting characters are great. Keith is a gentleman, Cat is so grumpy. (Challe’s digs at Cat are funny), Hugh is… idk he’s kind of strange tbh. I liked that Bridgette finally got a backbone at the very end. And Jonas growing up and becoming better is gracious. I do wish he hadn’t tried to … do something very bad at the beginning. It seemed way too extreme a choice for him to choose. Like even though he’s slimey, that felt a bit forced even on him

BUT all in all, I LOVED this show!! The LN are on my to buy list now. After Raven of the Inner Palace. I’m super glad I saw something about this show awhile back, and then was reminded recently. I think I saw someone post something about it here?? And because my life has been rather stressful lately, I needed a good romantical pick-me-up. So this was perfect!
